: Greetings.

Hi Kat.
We took in Foster children and used ZINC OXIDE for diaper rashes It comes in a tube and is sold over the counter. We never had diaper rashes after that.

Also, when we brought my Dad home from the hospital (he was terminal and dying from cancer.). He had a nasty loking bedsore.

He was in a hospital bed in our home and therefore his skin was exposed to the air, but I think it would be all right if you put alot of (fill the bedsore) zinc oxide on it and then put some gauze and a bandaid over it.

Change the gauze and clean out the sore with warm water once a day and at night let the sore be exposed to air with only the gauze on and a bandaid.

To prevent new bedsores (and you can tell just by looking at her skin because they will be a patch of red, buy over the counter liquid bandage spray and spray liberally on the red spot. It will prevent any new bedsores if you catch that red spot in time.

My dad died without a bedsore and the nurses were so amazed they decided to use our method.

It may take a week or more to clear it up. Just make sure to clean the sore every day.

It is messy but it works.

Good luck,
Lee Orton
