I have lymphadema, caused by cancer surgery. I had 21 lymph nodes removed and the flow of lymph back up from my leg became partially obstructed. It is not that uncommon. It is treated with compression devices, like stockings, or sleeves that pump up like a blood pressure cuff. I know of no surgery to correct it. Physical therapists can treat it, but I don't know if they have other methods of treatment than those mentioned above.
