Atypical cells are abnormal cells on the cervix. They have the potential to become cancerous. You will need to go see your gyno every three monthd for 1 year then every six months for a second year. If nothing changes (the cells stay the same or go away) then you are done. If they change and form into cancerous cells, a hysterectomy will have to be done. I am now on my second year of every 3 month check-ups. It can go on for quite some time. You really need to speak w/your gyno about your options and which is best for you.
