YOUR BODY IS THE MIRROR OF YOUR LIFE

Part 3 - Using the Chakra System as a Body Map

by Martin Brofman, Ph.D

Hindu teachers have been studying consciousness for thousands of years and from their ancient traditions we can learn the language of the chakras.

Chakra is a sanskrit word, meaning "wheel," or "vortex," because that's what it looks like when we look at it. Each chakra is like a solid ball of energy interpenetrating the physical body, in the same way that a magnetic field can interpenetrate the physical body.

The chakras are not physical. They are aspects of consciousness in the same way that the auras are aspects of consciousness The chakras are more dense than the auras, but not as dense as the physical body. They interact with the physical body through two major "transport" systems, the endocrine system and the nervous system. Each of the seven chakras is associated with one of the seven endocrine glands, and also with a particular group of nerves called a plexus. Thus, each chakra can be associated with particular parts of the body and particular functions within the body controlled by that plexus or that endocrine gland can be associated with that chakra.

Your consciousness, your experience of being, represents everything it is possible for you to experience. All of your senses, all of your perceptions, all of your possible states of awareness, can be divided into seven categories, and each of these categories can be associated with a particular chakra. Thus, the chakras represent not only particular parts of your physical body, but also particular parts of your consciousness. When you feel tension in your consciousness, you feel it in the chakra associated with the part of your consciousness experiencing the stress, and in the parts of the physical body associated with that chakra. Where you feel the stress depends therefore on why you feel the stress. When someone is hurt in a relationship, they feel it in their heart. When someone is nervous, their legs tremble and their bladder becomes weak.

When there is tension in a particular part of your consciousness, and therefore in the chakra associated with that part of your consciousness, the tension is detected by the nerves of the plexus associated with that chakra, and communicated to the parts of the body controlled by that plexus. When the tension continues over a period of time, or reaches a particular degree of intensity, the person creates a symptom on the physical level. Again, the symptom served to communicate to the person through their body what they had been doing to themselves in their consciousness. When the person changes something about their way of being, they are able to release the stress that had been creating the symptom, and they are then able to return to their natural state of balance and health.

When we are reading the body as a map of the consciousness within, we work with the idea that the tensions in the body represent tensions in the person's consciousness concerning what was happening in the person's life at the time that the symptom developed. The person was feeling stress about something that was happening in their life at that time.

We are going to examine the map of consciousness that the chakras provide, in order to understand the language of the symptoms that are associated with each chakra. In order to complete this map, however, we also need to look at ourselves as each a polarity of yin and yang, feminine and masculine characteristics.

For most people, their right side is their yang side, their will side, their acting or active side, and the left side is their yin side, their female side, their feeling or adaptive side. For people who were born left-handed, this polarity is reversed. Thus, for a right-handed person, their right leg can be described as their will leg, or their male leg, or the foundation of their will, but for a left-handed person, their left leg would be their male leg or will leg, and so on. Thus, we can talk about the will arm, or the will eye, or the will nostril, etc., and which side it is on will depend upon whether the person is right-handed or left-handed at birth.

Each of the chakras is energy vibrating at a certain frequency, in a logical and orderly sequence of seven vibrations. As we move up the scale, the elements become more and more subtle, moving through the five physical elements of earth, water, fire, air, and ether, to the spiritual elements of inner sound and inner light. The heaviest element is on the bottom, the lightest on the top. It is a logical and orderly sequence.

The colors of the spectrum also represent a series of seven vibrations in a logical and orderly sequence, as do the notes of the musical scale. Thus, we can put the heaviest vibrations or the longest wavelength on the bottom and the lightest on the top, and a particular color can be used to represent a chakra in its clear state, as can a particular musical note. Music played in a certain key vibrates a particular chakra, and we feel a particular way when we hear that music. Our relationship with a certain color says something about our relationship with the part of our consciousness that the color represents.

The Root Chakra is associated with the parts of our consciousness concerned with security, survival, or trust. For most people, this concerns the parts of their consciousness concerned with money, home, and job. When this chakra is in its clear state, the person is able to feel secure, be present in the here and now, and be grounded. When there is tension in this chakra, it is experienced as insecurity or fear. When there is more tension, it is experienced as a threat to survival.

Parts of the body controlled by the sacral plexus and this chakra include the skeleton system, the legs, and the elimination system. Symptoms in these parts of the body represent, therefore, tensions at the level of the Root Chakra, and we therefore know that the person is seeing the world through a perceptual filter of insecurity or fear. The adrenal glands are also associated with this chakra.

If one leg is affected, we can see whether it is the male leg or the female leg, and thus whether it has something to do with trust in a male or trust in a female. We can also see it as having something to do with trust in the will, or the aspects of trust in the foundations the emotional being, related to what was happening in the person's life at the time the symptom developed.

The physical sense of smell, and therefore the organ of the sense of smell, the nose, is associated with the Root Chakra. Symptoms at the level of the nose or affecting the sense of smell reflect tensions at the level of the Root Chakra.

Each chakra is associated with an element. The Root Chakra is associated with the element of earth, and reflects something about the person's association with the earth, or how they feel about being on the earth, which we call Mother Earth. This chakra is also associated with our relationship with our mother. When someone experiences a sense of separation from their mother, or not feeling loved by their mother, they cut off their roots and experience symptoms of tensions at the level of the Root Chakra until they can again open to accept their mother's love.

When a child comes into the world in the traditional family structure, the mother provides the nourishment and the father provides the direction. Thus, in the child's relationship with its mother, it makes certain decisions about the way things are. The relationship with the mother thus becomes a model for the person's relationship with everything that represents security - money, home, and job.

The Root Chakra is associated with the color red.

The Abdominal Chakra is associated with the parts of our consciousness concerned with food and sex - the communication from the body to the person within it, about what the body wants or needs, and what it finds pleasurable. It also is related to what is happening in their consciousness about having children. When this chakra is in its clear state, the person is in touch with this communication, and listening to and responding appropriately to what the body wants and needs.

Parts of the body controlled by the lumbar plexus include the reproductive system and the abdomen, and the lumbar region of the back.

The sense of taste is associated with this chakra, as is the element of water. When someone does not have a clear relationship with water (swimming, for example, or being on a boat), this reflects their attitudes about the parts of their consciousness that this chakra represents.

Tensions on the will side or the emotional side of this chakra indicate tensions in the person's consciousness as conflicts between either the will or the emotions with what the person's body is asking for.

This chakra is associated with the sense of taste, and with appetite. It is also involved with the person's willingness to feel their emotions.

The second chakra is associated with the color orange.

The Solar Plexus Chakra is associated with the parts of our consciousness having to do with perceptions of power, control, or freedom. In its clear state, it represents ease of being, and comfort with what is real for one's self - being comfortable with who you are.

Parts of the body associated with this chakra include the organs closest to the solar plexus - stomach, gall bladder, spleen, liver, etc. - as well as the skin as a system, the muscular system as a system, and the face in general.

The physical sense associated with this chakra is the sense of sight. Anyone with impaired eyesight experiences tension at the level of their solar plexus chakra about the issues of power, control, or freedom. Nearsighted people also experience tensions at the level of the Root Chakra, and experience the world through a perceptual filter of fear or insecurity. Those who are farsighted experience tension also at the level of the throat chakra, and see the world through a perceptual filter of anger or guilt. Astigmatics see through the emotional perceptual filter of confusion.

The endocrine gland associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra is the pancreas. We can say that diabetics are keeping sweetness from themselves. When someone gets too close with sweetness, they feel threatened in their power to be who they are, and an emotion comes up to create a safe distance again. The emotion is anger. Diabetes is associated with suppressed anger.

The element associated with this chakra is fire, and the person's relationship with the sun says something about their relationship with the parts of their consciousness associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra.

The color of the Solar Plexus Chakra is yellow.

The Heart Chakra is associated with the parts of the consciousness concerned with relationships and our perceptions of love. The relationships we speak of here are with those people closest to our heart - partners, parents, siblings, children.

The parts of the body associated with this chakra include the heart and lungs, and the blood circulatory system as a system. This chakra is also associated with the thymus gland, which controls the immune system. When this is affected, as with AIDS, the person's lifestyle separates them from someone they love.

The physical sense associated with this chakra is the sense of touch, in its aspect of relating to the person inside the body. For example, a massage given to someone with no sensitivity to what the person is feeling inside would be an example of the sensation we associate with the Abdominal Chakra, but when the masseur seems to have a sense of what the person inside the body is experiencing, then it includes the aspect of relating we associate with the Heart Chakra. When someone experiences extreme sensitivity about being touched, we would ask what was happening at the level of the Heart Chakra.

This chakra is associated with the element of air. When someone has difficulty with air, with breathing (asthma, emphysema, tuberculosis, etc.), we say that their relationship with air reflects their relationship with love - difficulty letting it in, or letting it out, for example

The color associated with the Heart Chakra is emerald green.

The Throat Chakra is associated with the parts of the consciousness concerned with expressing and receiving. Expressing can be in the form of communicating what one wants and what one feels, or it can be artistic expression, as an artist painting, a dancer dancing, a musician playing music, using a form for expressing and bringing to the outside what was within. Expression is related to receiving, as, "Ask, and ye shall receive."

The throat chakra is associated with abundance, and with the state of consciousness called, "grace," where it seems that what you want for you is also what God wants for you. Accepting what the abundant universe offers you requires a sense of unconditionally receiving.

This chakra is also associated with listening to one's intuition, and flowing in a particular way where it seems that the Universe supports you in all that you do. It is the first level of consciousness from which one perceives another level of intelligence functioning, and one's interaction with this other level of intelligence.

Parts of the body associated with this chakra include the throat, shoulders, and arms and hands. and the thyroid gland.

The sense of hearing is associated with this chakra, and the element of ether, the most subtle physical element, corresponding to what we find in deep space. The ether is the crossover between the physical and the spiritual dimensions. Someone looking at the world through this chakra watches the manifestation of their goals. The Will Arm represents manifesting what you want, and the Feeling Arm represents manifesting what makes you happy. Hopefully, the two point to the same thing.

Blue is the color associated with this chakra.

The Brow Chakra is associated with the parts of the consciousness concerned with the spiritual view, and the home of the Spirit, the Being within. This level of consciousness is associated with what western traditions call the unconscious or subconscious, the part of our consciousness that directs our actions and our life. From this level we are aware of the motivations behind our actions. We can watch our outer theater from an inner point of view.

This chakra is associated with the carotid plexus, and the nerves on each side of the face, and the pituitary gland. Headaches in the temples or center of the forehead are associated with tensions at this level. This chakra controls the entire endocrine system as a system, and the process of growth.

The Brow chakra, also known as the Third Eye, is associated with extra sensory perception (ESP), the set of all inner senses that correspond to the outer senses, which together comprise spirit-to-spirit communication. The element associated with this chakra is a vibration known as the Inner Sound, the sound that one hears in their ears that does not depend upon something in the physical world. Some consider it a pathological condition. In some of the eastern traditions the ability to hear this is considered a necessary prerequisite to further spiritual growth.

The color associated with this chakra is indigo, midnight blue, the color of lapis lazuli, or the color of the night sky during a full moon.

The Crown Chakra is associated with the parts of the consciousness concerned with unity or separation, and just as the Root Chakra showed our connection with Mother Earth, this chakra shows our connection with Our Father, Which Art in Heaven. At first, it is associated with our connection with our biological father. This becomes the model for our relationship with authority, and this becomes the model for our relationship with God. When there is a sense of separation from our biological father, the person closes this chakra, and the effect on the consciousness is a sense of isolation and aloneness, being in a shell, and difficult to make contact with those outside the shell.

The person feels as if they are hiding from God, or hiding from themselves, not seeing what is true for them in the deepest part of their consciousness, the part we call the soul.

This chakra is also associated with a sense of direction.

The parts of the body controlled by this chakra are the pineal gland, the brain, and the entire nervous system as a system.

The color associated with the Crown Chakra is violet, the color of amethyst.

Using The Map

When there is tension in a particular part of the body, this represents a tension in a particular part of the consciousness, about a particular part of the person's life. Being aware of these associations helps one to see the importance of resolving the tense issues in their life.

When we see the correspondences between the consciousness and the body, we see the degree to which we each create our reality. In fact, those words begin to take on a new meaning. We see how everything begins in our consciousness and we are able to look around us at other aspects of our lives in the same way.

When we see how the body carries our the messages and deepest wishes of the Being within the body, we can realize that the process can go in more than one direction. If our consciousness is directing how we develop symptoms, it can also direct how we release these same symptoms. If our consciousness can make our body ill, our consciousness can make our body well.

The logical conclusion of this process is that anything can be healed.

Next article, Martin tells of his personal journey and how he came to develop the Body/Mirror System of self-healing.

THE SPIRITUAL ENERGY CRISIS - A Solution!

by Chrissie Blaze

"The real energy crisis which exists upon or world is the Spiritual Energy Crisis, and if this was solved, all other crises would cease to exist." This definitive statement was made by Sir George King, Western Master of Yoga and Founder/President of The Aetherius Society, after many years of studying the problems which face mankind.

Many scientists would deny this, believing that the real problems on this earth are, for example, the dangers of atomic experimentation and nuclear waste; lack of resources, pollution and natural disasters. However, the difference between the orthodox scientist and the metascientist is that the former studies and treats the effects, while the latter deals with the more important causes.

The physical energy crisis is the effect of the spiritual energy crisis and, unless the latter is solved, the former will always remain. This is due to the all-pervasive Law of Karma which governs the physical, mental and spiritual state of mankind upon Earth. According to the Law of Karma, action and reaction is opposite and equal or, as The Master Jesus taught: "As ye sow, so shall ye reap."

In other words, as long as we have wars, upheavals and unrest in many countries; poverty intermingled with great wealth in others; racial hatred, hypocrisy and man's inhumanity to man; and as long as we simultaneously raise our brittle civilization upon the faltering foundations of materialism, we will continue to contribute negatively to the Karmic pattern of mankind and so will continue to have the spiritual energy crisis.

It is only when we realize that we are "our brother's keeper" and act for the benefit of others that the karmic pattern of mankind will improve; and thus simultaneously will begin the resolution of both the physical and the spiritual energy crisis.

Fortunately, there are lights in the darkness: those brave and compassionate individuals who are helping in many different ways to relieve the spiritual energy crisis. The majority of these people would not claim to be "spiritual" - the policeman risking his life to help alleviate the drug problem in the slums of the world; the dedicated doctors and nurses who, regardless of salary and their next meal, work around the clock to save the lives of those who are strangers to them.

Spiritual energy is not an emotion or a power reserved for "men of the cloth." It is an active, living thing which, according to Sir George "..... is just as much an energy as electricity." The difference is simply that "It operates on a different frequency and does a different job and thus has to be manipulated in a different way."

Sir George is also an expert in the science of radionics, which is the science of the manipulation of subtle spiritual energies. As a Master of Yoga, he was certainly well-equipped to find effective solutions to the spiritual energy crisis - and this he did. However, just as rice needs to be eaten in order to appease starvation, so do the solutions he has given to the spiritual energy crisis need to be utilized by mankind before they will take effect. Being a realist, he stressed that this will not happen overnight: "The energy crisis could be solved by an adept in seven days, but the change required by mankind would not be made by mankind."

In other words, an adept, or highly advanced intelligence, with a deep knowledge of metaphysics, the Law of Karma, and having certain advanced skills and abilities along with a high degree of enlightenment, could solve the spiritual - and thus physical - energy crisis in just a few days. However, even though practical and workable solutions to the problems could be given by the adept, it would still necessitate a great change being made by mankind itself in order for these solutions to manifest.

It is up to each and every one of us to realize that we create our environment by every thought we think and every action we perform. The adept could only teach and guide us, and could never force us to change. No matter what we are taught, or codes of ethics we may study, it always requires an inner change before these can manifest in our lives.

Often a catalyst for such change is an understanding of the true nature of man, which is rarely found in our schools of universities. The majority of us are conditioned from childhood into believing that the intellectual yardstick is a most reliable one by which to measure success in life. This conditioning does not allow a full expression of the range of abilities and latent powers within us all. It does not acknowledge the fact that we are all "spiritual energy radiators."

Several years ago, Dr. N. J. Stowell, a leading nuclear scientist said in a radio broadcast: "With a delicate instrument devised to measure the wavelengths of the brain, we recently checked the emanations from the brain of a woman near death. She was praying at the time and we could tell that something about her was reaching toward God. The meter registered 500 positive. This is 55 times the power registered by a 50 kilowatt broadcast station sending a message around the world!" Extract from "The Messenger" Epping Methodist Church Circuit, Feb-Apr 1974. It is this fantastic power, which is latent within us all, and how we can best utilize it to solve the spiritual energy crisis, that was also one of Sir George King's main concerns.

In the 1970's, he introduced the revolutionary concept that spiritual healing is not a gift for the few, as it had been previously regarded, but the natural ability which is the birthright of everyone. As an outstanding spiritual healer himself, with over 40 years' experience, he trained hundreds of people to become spiritual healers. Through his textbook, You Too Can Heal, he revivified the healing movement in the British Isles and spearheaded mass healing campaigns throughout the world.

As "miraculous" cures were effected and more and more people began to understand and utilize this vast storehouse of energy which flows freely through space (prana, chi and the "Energy of Life") for the benefit of others, another wedge of light was pushed more firmly into this dark world.

The spiritual energy that cures a lady of cancer, a gentleman of chronic arthritis, a child of epilepsy, is the same energy that motivates the brave and exhaustive efforts of rescue workers in the horrific devastation of an earthquake. Over and over again, it can be seen that this is indeed a workable and usable energy which can be manipulated by anyone. Just as electricity flows through wires and produces heat and light, so does Spiritual Energy flow through our minds and bodies to produce light in the darkness of our world.

Healing alone, however effective, would not have solved the spiritual energy crisis on Earth. Meditating long and often upon such facts, Sir George made an outstanding breakthrough in the science of radionics by inventing the mission known as "Operation Prayer Power" which has become one of the major solutions to the spiritual energy crisis.

Operation Prayer Power was, on January 23, 1972, dedicated by Sir George .... to all people throughout the world who are unselfishly working for the preservation of the ecological balance of this planet, so senselessly polluted by unthinking man throughout the centuries." One year later, on June 30, 1973, this outstanding mission of world peace and enlightenment was inaugurated on a Holy Mountain in North Devonshire, England, known as Holdstone Down, and later on the shores of Lake Powell, Utah in the USA.

In Operation Prayer Power, which is a breakthrough in metaphysics and centuries ahead of its time, anyone can, despite their age, religion, belief of race, help to bring about "miracles," which has been proven many times.

This outstanding concept involves the blending of humanitarianism and science - the essence of the age of Aquarius. Through Christian prayer and Buddhist mantras, the participants in Operation Prayer Power can, during charging sessions, invoke and direct spiritual energy into the radionics battery used in this mission. This battery can store Spiritual Energy indefinitely and the energy can then be released at a later date through radionics machines (called "Spiritual Energy Radiators" designed by King and constructed by The Aetherius Society), to world catastrophes of any kind.

Some years ago, well-known American psychic researcher, the late Bryce Bond, interviewed Sir George about his mission. For the first time, he outlined and defined the different types of equipment used in Operation Prayer Power, and described the modus operandi of the mission as follows: "The energy is put in the battery through prayer and it is directed by thought. The whole idea behind it is that, if you have a thousand people praying in a thousand different places in a thousand different ways, you have a thousand different radiation points. But if you bring these people together and you direct that energy by thought, and store it, you have one major reception point. The last battery we charged - the first Operation Prayer Power - took approximately 750 man-hours to charge. I can release that power in 30 minutes. So you see the tremendous concentration of energy there is in one of these batteries. And that is the whole essence of Operation Prayer Power. If it wasn't for this high densification of energy, the operation wouldn't mean what it does.

"For instance, if there is an earthquake, rather than suddenly trying to bring a thousand, or even two hundred people together to pray for three or four minutes each, with Operation Prayer Power you have the energy here instantly. Thirty minutes and it's away, under tremendous concentration, because of the design of the equipment. I can control the energy concentration and can change the dimension of this Spiritual Energy, invoked by ordinary spiritual people, into cosmic energy. So we have learned to regulate a tremendous power."

The 24 year history of Operation Prayer Power has brought many outstanding results through the discharge phases. Floods of spiritual energy have been directed to victims of floods and earthquakes; to the peacemakers in the United Nations; to rescue workers and to many thousands of people who are suffering or are helping in many ways to relieve suffering as a result of war and natural disaster. These discharge phases have all been closely monitored as to the effects they produce and many "modern day miracles" have been achieved.

However remarkable this mission is, Sir George King has been ever seeking to improve the overall design and modus operandi and many improvements and refinements have been brought about to make it today a powerful and strategic karmic tool for change in the cause of peace and enlightenment.

The solution to the spiritual energy crisis does not, however, lie with one mission or with one man, how ever great they may be. It is the responsibility of each and every one of us upon this Earth. In the words of Sir George: "Miracles on Earth are not done by God for man, but by man for God."

SPIRITUALITY IN THE EARTH IS A THREE LEGGED RACE TO HEAVEN

by Joan Wilson

Spirituality

We are spirit beings made in the image of God. We are spirit before we express ourselves in a physical body and we are spiritual beings while we have physical bodies, and we remain spirit beings when we shed our physical bodies. We must remain aware of our basic nature no matter what form we assume, and we must act in accordance with that truth. Faith is knowledge of things not seen, and we must have faith in our spiritual nature.

We are being bombarded with physical and mental images that would have us deny our spirituality and accept that reality is all material. Our food is tainted. Our air is tainted. Our water is tainted. Everything we need to sustain our physical bodies is being poisoned. If we would survive this onslaught, we must first clear our environment by dedicating everything in our experience to spiritual awareness. It is not the additives that poison; it is the greed and self-interest that motivates others to put these additives in to condition us with needs that are not real. We can ask for blessings on everything we accept to further our growth and understanding of our true nature. That will remove any impediment and alter the effects to growth.

The Earth

The earth is unique in that it allows us to function without having to acknowledge our connection to all creation. Physical appearances dictate what is real and not real. Indeed many live their lives without knowing of any connection at all except for what is before them physically. They still learn and grow and develop skills that will help them become aware. The earth is but one room in a very large school to help us develop our "beingness." It takes a powerful spiritual being to come to the earth and attempt self-actualization. It is a difficult forum for advanced beings. The lesson of what Jesus taught and how he was treated speaks volumes about the risks. Yet, that thickness also provides great opportunities for growth. There are other places where it flows easily, but the earth slows things down and calls for choices. It is the place where we get to become aware with great difficulty of who we are and what we are. We need to appreciate the pressures because they will forge us into aware spiritual beings. Once we learn to ride a bicycle, the skill remains with us. It is there for us if we need it again. So too are the lessons we learn in the earth. They are part of us and there when we draw on them.

We all need to focus on every aspect of our circumstances and what it provides for learning and growth. We need to acknowledge that each of us is struggling with the same limitations and potentials. We need to realize that physical appearances give us only a clue as to what is really present in our lives and look within and beyond for greater clarity. We need to stop judging and start helping each other just as we would bandage an injured part of our body. We need to become aware of our connection to all creation so that we can focus our energies in cooperating with creative forces and not try to force them to cooperate with what we think we want.

Man is in a three -legged race with all creation. He is attached at the hip and one with all creation yet he tries to blindly run the race independently without acknowledging the obvious. Because he cannot see the connection physically, he denies it. He tries with his mind to get all creation to bend to his desires and doesn't try to work with it.

Man has had teachers who teach him how to work with creation, but he tries to incorporate their words with his desires. He cannot see what they see so blindly stumbles on. If he is approached and an effort is made to help him, he repels it because it is not in keeping with what he thinks he wants to do. He can admire men who flow with creation, but the one effort to put it into effect in his life is never done. That effort is surrendering to the truth that he is one with all creation.

In order for man to learn the truth of things, he chooses a sacred path which will help him. This is his framework in this physical world. Cultural and genetic factors make up part of the framework. He can choose illness, or handicaps to slow his pace. He will choose the greatest challenge for him to learn and work with all creation. Because he does not recognize these paths, he thinks they are holding him back instead of thrusting him forward. He then wants God to intervene and do it for him.

Man must learn to discern the truth. He must learn to develop spiritual sight and not be fooled by outward appearances. He must learn that we are one, and that if any man falls, it affects us. He has to learn not to cut off his foot by destroying life because it doesn't agree with his philosophy.

The earth offers a unique opportunity to become one with all creation, or I should more correctly say aware of our oneness with all creation. The density and distractions are continual challenges and opportunities to admitting our vulnerabilities and drawing on inner strength to deal with them.

Heaven

We now know who we are, where we are and what we're doing. Now we can explore why and what this all means. We can now choose how to express ourselves with this knowledge. We can now establish the Kingdom of Heaven. We don't have to wait for a spaceship to take us there; we don't have to die to get there. We have to build it, one brick at a time, and go there, one baby step at a time. Heaven is not some far off place in the sky. It is here, within, and we create it with our choices.

When we have had enough of living in the shadows, we turn on the light. When we are through living in fear and distrust, we can choose to live in love and acceptance. When we are through with this world, we can choose to live in heaven by creating it where we are. We have the control panel in front of us and choose the direction of our lives. We choose how to live as one with creation. We may have tremendous challenges, but we still sit at the control panel and decide where to go and how to get there.

We are surrounded by a wall of fear of musts and have tos in our lives. We are surrounded by ultimatums to control our behavior. We have the power to wash that wall down with a flood of love. It will give with enough consistent effort to love and accept creation and work with these energies and become aware of our oneness with them.

People who have had near death experiences are often changed completely by the experience. They have serious life threatening injuries or illnesses that temporarily blind them to this world. When they are focused again on this world, they still have serious life threatening injuries or illnesses, yet they are completely different. What has changed is their awareness of their circumstances, and perhaps without the trauma, it would have taken them much longer to wake up. We can choose to grow in awareness and one step at a time choose to live in heaven.

As children of creation, inheritors of the Kingdom, we set the course.

THE SPIRITUAL IMPERATIVE

By Rev. Thea Lipp, CSH/Edzekiel

We have been filled with a longing for eons. We have explored all that is this planet, ourselves, our physical, intellectual and technological abilities until we have refined and redefined that knowledge into its quantum particles. And yet we remain unfulfilled.

We have raced to the moon and to outer space. We have surpassed physical limits. We have made fantastic advancements in allopathic medicine, longevity, promoting planetary well-being, and taken the study of the human mind as it relates to a physical reality to its ultimate conclusions. And yet that gnawing sense of more than this insinuates itself into our emotional well-being. Where is the fulfillment of love and joy? Where is the belonging? Beyond logic, where is the sense of the wholeness and the end of mystery? Is this all there is?

Darwin proposed the Biological Imperative: survival of the fittest and survival of the species. We accepted into our cultural and religious belief systems this notion of ourselves as flawed, fallen, guilt-ridden shameful animalistic reactionary beings trained to a conscience ever watchful lest we express that baseness which we are programmed to believe we are.

In its extreme, the biological imperative has determined that we will always view all things as a competitive playing field in which we must be winners if we are to survive. This physically based biological imperative and the dichotomous belief system of physical/material superiority, wrought with domination and victimization remains the mainstay of our third dimensional mindset. In this range of thinking, there are authorities/followers; power/powerlessness; material worthiness/poverty unworthiness; haves/have-nots.

From earliest in utero awareness, we are programmed into judgmental duality, beginning with the mutually exclusionary identification of male and female. This duality of indoctrinated understanding then spread beyond our bodies to encompass all of our thinking, creating categorical differentiations across all that we survey.

Even in this moment, many still argue with assurance that our entire beings are governed by the machinations of our brains and that our lives have a predestined resolution and fulfillment, yet there is that indefinable something calling into us to look deeper, harder, more realistically at who and what we are.

The collective *we* stand upon a threshold -- a gateway -- to our futures. Let us look more closely at ourselves and our society now for we have choices from which we will design/create our own futures. Will we use a cattle prod upon our dying horse or will we, at last, find the courage to confront our unwillingness to let go the past and leap forward into a completely new cosmology?

A predominant majority believe with scholarly assurance that to take humankind towards higher technology will provide not only answers but solutions to our collective ill and frame the future humanity as techno-sapiens. Yet the current and well advanced technology has not insured or even begun to prove this theory.

Humanity starves for connection with the very earth that sustains it. Our technology may have improved the tonnage of our food production. Yet the use of pesticides, herbicides, growth hormones, chemical preservatives, and additives has lessened the nutritional/health value of our foodstuffs while overprocessing of raw foods has eliminated the life-giving enzymes, changed the nature of amino acids, vitamins and minerals either eliminating them entirely or locking them so that we cannot digest and assimilate them.

The planet itself continues festering, rife with exigencies that will not evaporate into the ethers: overpopulation; planetary devastation; planetary ecological breakdown; world famine; deteriorating world mental and physical health; growing universal unemployment; family breakdown and dysfunction; worldwide manufacture and consumption of unnecessary and mentally and physically damaging consumer goods; worldwide slides into shortages of essential fuels and natural resources to power and construct our technology long-term; worldwide dissatisfaction with the quality of life.

We are not creating a sustaining technology that will take us into the future. We are merely living in this momentary fantasy of glittering stop-gap measures, buoyed up upon the false hopes of an inappropriate and destructive technology.

Why have we, who are the most highly educated, most technologically advanced generations ever to exist on this planet, come to the confrontation with these problems? What machinations in our thinking have brought us to this departure into impending sociological and biological insanity and what will bring us back to health? What calls to us?

The Spiritual Imperative is that soul song and soul note within that is a siren call to our deepest beings, ringing within all of our actions and interactions, in all of relationships and relatedness. We are a race in need of love. The Spiritual Imperative is that soul longing for the unconditionality we have never known in our lives.

The deep dread of aloneness, separation and dire loneliness we all know and experience or have experienced has caused us to seek solace wherever we could find it: harmful or treacherous relationships, drugs, alcohol, behavioral addictions, obsessions and compulsions. We know a hollowness, emptiness within that nothing in the material focus can gratify.

We feel detached from some part of our real selves. We cannot find and grasp those ties that would bring us back into a sacred center of self. We drift relentlessly and are sometimes appalled, bewildered, in dread of those experiences that constantly recur in our lives reminding us, pounding at us, while a deep, inner part of self feels unloved, unnurtured, naked.

We are faced with this empty sense of self over and over. We have attempted to compensate and explain this away with our total immersion into the material focus and idolatry of all things of form -- our forms -- our activities in work and leisure -- our indoctrinated thought that we could lose ourselves in "something" that would help us forget.

In this 20th century, we are brought up short against a wall of impassible delusion. We have sought vainly within this physical world and universe, and the unconditionally loving answers are not here. As we look around at ourselves, others, our children and even their children, we must assuredly be aware of a deep, unresolved dissatisfaction in the ways that our lives are so seemingly limited and limiting. We have explored and dissected all that is form ad nauseum We have nowhere else to go, nothing else to explore. The cosmos of the third dimension has drifted into end-time.

John saw this in Revelations. Isaiah saw it in his prophecies. The Armageddons foreseen so long ago are our lives today, as we each fight our internal wars to come to terms with a reality that is no longer viable for us and that cannot evolve into anything but more self- aggrandizing self-destructiveness.

The Spiritual Imperative says that we are not now alone, have never been alone, can never be alone. It calls us to consider love and shows us the unlimited power of love. It teaches us to learn self-love as a key to this transformation. The Spiritual Imperative to know unconditional love opens in us a gateway to our next dimension/evolutionary step of being, another way of thinking -- a new expanding, expansive possibility for humankind as we begin to negotiate the ideas of methaphysical/higher vibrational/auric/energetic realities of self that we can see from the level of the heart.

The Messiah and the Christ-mind/Buddha-mind/Krishna-Kali mind lie within us here at the dimension of the energetic heart. We are that future evolution of human possibility of peace, love, joy here and now.

The voice calling is ours, our True Voices from our highest, most adult, most Spiritual selves -- our own perfection, completion, wholeness of awareness that is us at the center of our personal, unique universes. The word that resonates within our beings most deeply is the word HOME -- HOME where all is unconditionality.

We are now and have always been upon a pathway -- unique to each of us -- through the experience of form, time and space/incarnation. We each have chosen our unique path, the beings with whom we are in relationships, and created the objects and things with which we festoon the illusion of a first, second and third dimensional "reality."

In this moment, that calling to HOME is causing many, many individuals to come awake -- to become conscious -- and to see themselves in the midst of this illusion that is delusion. Right now, each day, people in all walks of life are suddenly shifting their awareness into other beliefs, other ways of being.

There is no surprise that metaphysics and wholistic medicine is suddenly, meteorically acceptable, or that communities are rediscovering human interdependency and responsibility. Nor should it be a surprise that even huge multi-glomerates have found the benefits of philanthropy and community action.

The disbelief that continues to exist derives from unresolved issues that erupt childishly like the threat of an overbearing parent attempting stop-gap measures to prohibit the free flow of change. Unaware that they are not driven by a biological imperative, nor by the ebb and flow of luck/fortune/predestination/kismet, they continue to presume they can have authority over others while allowing their own authority over themselves to be usurped.

The rage that sustains, based as it is on such distrust of self and other, creates the impetus for continued disregard of health and welfare of self, family, immediate environment and the planet.

But what if we were to hear, identify with and internalize, at last, the call of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE and of HOME? What would we need to change and what would our society and our planet become as we each took self-responsibility for our thoughts and the lives we are creating and living from those thoughts?

The Spiritual Imperative demands -- even overruns -- our former notions of ourselves as slumbering beasts of animal baseness. It has entered our world and our minds, prodding and reminding us that there is a next step, an evolution into the world of full consciousness and total sentience.

Today, we are in the midst of The Awakening. It will not be ignored, explained away, trod upon with despisement and judgments, hidden from us nor can it be erased from our growing awareness. Many are those who fear the fear of the illusion itself, and bury themselves even more deeply into the old ways, but even they find themselves a part of humanity evolving.

We are called now to live, think and create at the level of the heart. The days of the material focus -- rational thought, conscience, technology and business for the sake of business and all of those thoughts of ourselves as merely human form that birth, age, suffer of dis-ease and die -- are about to be supplanted by a new knowing of ourselves as immortal, Divine, innocent spiritual beings self-created and self-responsible -- ourselves as godhead -- ourselves as Children of God.

Where does our collective history flow from here, as we each reach self-realization? If all that we thought of as reality while in the material focus is now known as thought-form -- then what illimitable possibilities await us? If all the universes are created to sustain us in our thinking, then what do we create when we think in terms of love and not of fear?

The Spiritual Imperative reaches into our hearts so that we can recapture our birthrights of peace, calm, love and joy and lives lived in the flow of a most lavish abundance of health, wealth and happiness. Can we really turn away from this possibility?

Our hearts open allow us to envision a planet replete with every higher quality of existence -- balance, beauty, clarity, harmony and resonance. Our hearts know health, healing, rejuvenation. Through our hearts we can feel love as we are meant to feel love in all things, all beings, all that is creation. We are meant to know ourselves, to eat of that Tree of Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding now. We are at last ready to reenter that Garden of Eden when we acknowledge the Spiritual Imperative that calls us to love ourselves and every other thing of our creation.

As we allow our hearts to open to ourselves through self- transformation, we move out of the density of fear and into higher states of being which are only available to us through love.. In this, we open to perceptions, wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the real depths of the Spiritual Imperative.

We are physical beings with an intrinsic desire to achieve Spiritual Homeostasis/Internal balance. As we align our vibrations with those that emanate from the Center of the Universe, our beings become permeated with the resonance of the notes sounded there -- the components of unconditional love -- balance, beauty, calm, clarity, harmony, joy, love, peace, resonance -- and the bliss of Being.

What will life be like in the future? There are now millions and millions of individuals who are heeding the Spiritual Imperative today. Their lives have become independently full of joy. They reach out and begin to teach the people and especially the children that they are unique -- one-of -a-kind -- beings in the universe with their own special gifts and visions. The encouragement to be who we are as these unique beings of creativity rather than the processed factory- ready debris of a military-industrial complex *is* the creation of the new human being.

How much we have all desired, deep within, for that recognition of who we are. The ability to be in our Truths as gifted beings is the very foundation upon which all future change in our collective consciousness transpires. When we are not hindered by the mandates of fear and the coercion and indoctrination into the mindset that is fear, then we can evolve into the free, creative and co-creative, self- loving, self-respecting, self-valuing, self-honoring and self-respecting beings of evolving consciousness that we are.

The bondage in which we believe we are held is merely the illusion of incarceration into form, time and space. We are free. And as we begin to examine and wear this new freedom, everything that we see, hear, taste, smell, touch and intuit will take on a higher vibration as *we* take on this higher vibration that is love.

From this new perspective, perception and positive expectation our Highest Good can flow into us as it has always desired to flow into each of us, for this, too, is our birthright and the Spiritual Imperative to receive all Good. And from this Highest Good we can, en masse, begin the aware and loving co-creation of Heaven on Earth.
